Cookouts and Barbies :)

This picture says it all. Ok. Wait. Maybe it doesn't. haha.

This is what happens when you're friend drags graciously takes you with her to every thrift shop ever known to man. The good news is, see that "Guess Where" game in the background? Score! Except for I had in my mind that it was "Guess Who", which was the coolest game east of the Mississippi. And to be honest, "Guess Where" is pretty lame. I'm banking on the kids thinking otherwise.

So since my Camera is broken, this is the only picture you get to see of our life lately.
Last Friday night we had our friends over and roasted hot dogs, and bunny shaped marshmallows. It was great fun. At one point we ran out of firewood. We didn't want to go off post. So Brittney and I went to the Px at 8:40 and found what we thought would be a splendid alternative...Duraflame or Dura log?? The good news is that one log lasts 2 hours. The bad news is after getting home an reading all of the warnings...I'm 98% sure we'll die of cancer from burning it.

Friday Calvin got neutered and microchipped. I'm really happy to finally have this done so I don't have to worry about it! He's quite the character. He's 4 lbs now and he thinks he's 50. He's downright crazy but we love him. He's finally almost 100% potty trained, is starting to run towards the neighbors house (to visit them) everytime we take him outside, and loves kids. Yesterday I was watching a little boy that my friend usually babysits for a little bit. We were playing with Mr. Potato head. Lets just say Calvin repeatedly stole every piece of Mr. Potato heads body. He kept taking them under the couch and hiding them, like as if he was going to build his own potato head one day.

It seems like we have NO privacy lately. Last night Tedd's new squad leader came over to "inspect our quarters". Apparently, he's going to come once a week. Once a week!!?! He was here for like 2 minutes. I don't think it took him too long to see that we didn't live in filth. Still kind of annoying though. Thursday evening we have our second foster Home Study visit.

Then Friday morning we are taking off for a road trip. Calvin is of course going with us. I feel like by the time we get everything that is written on the list, into our car we may have to ride on the roof haha. We'll see some of you soon!

Camera Fail

My camera broke! I am beyond dissapointed! I am a picture taking fool. And I know that blog posts are no fun to read when there are no pictures :(

So tonight I have but one thing to say. I was having a mini-text-a-thon with Brittney tonight and after hitting send I had a revelation. WHO am I? I just texted, "What kind of soda will ya'll drink?"

Soda? Ya'll?? haha

Tornados, puppies and Work

I spent all of my live long life...up until now in northern Indiana. Needless to say tornado's were not a big worry of mine. Fast forward 500 miles southwest and 5 months.
Tedd and I never go to bed until at least midnight. We had finally crawled into bed and drifted off to sleep. We were suddenly awakened by tornado sirens. The base has an intercom system in all of the housing areas. I ran to the window to see what was happening. Between sirens the "voice" was saying, "Warning. Take Cover." Umm we don't have local television, had not listened to the radio and we had NO idea why we were taking cover! LOL. We assumed it was tornado's so we sprung into action. I started throwing junk out of our large bedroom closet. We grabbed Calvin and Flea and put them both in their crates. We grabbed huge heavy blankets. Then we waited, and waited. We ended up waiting for over an hour. It was mega windy and there was a lot of scary loud thunder. But there was never touchdown here. There was SOOOO much damage in the surrounding towns though. There are lots of volunteering oportunities all around us to help rebuild especially in Branson.

Anyway. Would you be embarassed if your wife ran across the parking lot and started taking pictures of other people's vehicles?

Gotta love how she's all cutely smiling and I've got that crazed fake smile. Tis' life LOL.

Then there's Mr. Calvin Have you ever seen such a raga-muffin?! He needs a haircut worse than I need a housekeeper. One thing about poodles, they don't really shed. Their hair is kind of like ours. It just keeps growing longer (see picture :) ) When we brought him home he had pneumonia. He spent two weeks on an antibiotic which didn't work. We then switched his antibiotics and he's now on week 2 of the second one. I know that pneumonia can take FOREVER to get rid of completely. And luckily he looks forward to his cherry flavored liquid every morning.

Even though he's "sick" he is more crazy and happy than any other puppy. He is so very funny. We dress him in little sweaters and play fetch. He follows us everywhere and climbs everything. We love him.

We also finally started our foster care classes this week! Its a 3 hr class, one night a week for 9 weeks. Our home study is underway. We are REALLY excited to finish and get licensed.

The Army finally paid us part of the back pay they owe us. WOO HOO!!! Tedd is doing well at work. He has been busy becoming certified to drive the "5-ton" and BHL (backhoe), and skidsteer. He is doing GREAT at PT. His score is higher than it has ever been.

Friday night there were 3 people in his platoon that got caught underage drinking, and another guy that got a DUI. UGH Seriously people? SO since the army believes in mass punishment, Tedd and the rest of his platoon spent all day Saturday getting yelled at. *Sigh* Dumb kids.

When it comes to my job. I need some prayers. I am working in a VERY hostile environment. There are things being thrown, doors being slammed, people being called names, and some unethical things happening. It is very hard to be there. I go into the x-ray developing room and cry at least twice a day. If there are not big changes soon, I have no choice but to quit. Please pray that I make the right decision.

Now that your ear is officially talked off, enjoy your day!! :)

Karoke

So within 2.5 weeks we have Tedd's Birthday, Valentines Day, My Birthday and our Anniversary. Crazy right? Well for my birthday I asked Tedd to get me a nice airline carryon bag. He did a great job! I am really wanting to find some cheap plane tickets and travel a little this summer. I'm currently looking for a cute purse that Calvin can travel in too. He's currently tipping the scales at a whopping 3 lbs. (that was after a big meal!) so I'm sure he will be small enough to ride under the plane seat anywhere we go.

For my birthday my big request was to have Tedd and my friends go to karoke with me. If you know me, you already know I L.O.V.E. to sing. Tedd, Joe, Brittany and Chris all agreed to go and we had so much fun!

I sang Loretta Lynn's "Coal Miners Daughter". Then I asked some burly old man, who had sang a few old country songs, to sing a duet with me. I think I rocked the old man's socks when I went over and humbly asked him to accompany me on "Jackson". Please tell me you know the song? "We got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout. We've been takin' bought Jackson ever since the fire went out..." I must say, rocked it. We pretty much looked like this ;)

I still say that someday...you'll see me in the Opry!
