Ok so at the beginning of 2010, I did NOT make a new years resolution. I sat down and made a lot of little goals. I intend on stopping in and visiting that list of goals periodically to see how i'm doing. How are you doing on your goals for this year?
Here are a few of mine (I had 17 all together) I'll post on the rest soon.
1. Continue eating healthier- I feel like I'm doing excellent in this department. I really am trying to change my relationship with food. If you ever struggled with weight you know what I mean. But also this time it is more about health and wellness.
2. Exercise- I am doing better in this department as well. I am trying to exercise at least 3 days a week. Again I know this is good for me. I am NOT a runner, but I am power walking (it may be dorky but i like it), doing a great kickboxing video, doing my elliptical, and my sis and I are even starting to circuit train together...FUN.
It has FINALLY become a priority and its going to stay that way!
3. Daily Devotions- I am doing BETTER at this, still not wonderful. I have started reading through the Bible on a program. It is REALLY helping me to stay on track. If I miss a day, I go back and catch up on what I have missed. But...I know I should spend more time in prayer, and more time with God. I am working on this!
4. Tan once weekly- Okay..so I KNOW what you are all thinking. It is bad for me right? Well you are right. But tanning one time a week makes me feel better (really it does). It also helps my eczema. Since I started tanning I have not had one rash. Its worth it to me. And I also love laying in the warm tanning bed in the winter. :)
5.Budget- We are currently tracking our every cent. By doing this I think it has started to help us see where we can improve. In the past we have tried to do VERY strict budgeting all of the sudden. It failed. So we are trying to slowly change things, so that they will become habits. I wrote about the expense of running a dryer earlier this week. I am happy to report that I have not used the dryer once this week. Not even a single time. I have done 9 loads of laundry since then!

This week I went through every receipt and payment we had during the month of January. I do this every month. Every month when I go through the expenses, it never fails to "Shock and Amaze" lol.
There are definately places in our budget we have improved. We have DRASTICALLY cut our "eating out". I would say we have cut that expense by 70-80%.
Our electric bill on the other hand (maybe I shouldn't be telling you all this...oh well) was $190. Thats right folks. I know i can't be the only one who just felt like vomiting?
I KNOW that one of our biggest "electricity suckers" is our dryer. Tedd has a very dirty, outside job. So do I. Besides our normal laundry, we have coveralls, carhartt coats, sweatshirts, thermal socks, gloves, etc. I probably do no less than 10-11 loads of laundry a week...for TWO people.
Which means...our dryer runs probably no less than 10-15 HOURS a week. Wow!
So I have decided to challenge myself to use the dryer less. WAY less. I bought a cheap drying rack at the store in case its raining and I need to do a load of wash. But other than that, when its not raining or snowing I'm going to hang them outside. Even when its cold. I'm very interested to see what it does for our electric bill.
Hopefully we will be able to slash that cost. Anyone else "freeze dry" their clothes outside?
OH and check out this super cute new clothes pin bag my momma made me. It has little animal bowls and bones etc on it. I love it, Thanks Mom!

On a cold November day 4.5 years ago I decided to go to the rodeo with my friend Bralen. I was a freshman in college and was home on the weekend. We were having a great time. While I was there, this guy came up to me and started hitting on me. I can still remember looking at my friend after he walked away and saying, "ugh...who was THAT? Who does he think he is?"
HAHA Well little did I know I would soon know he would be my future husband. Six months later we were engaged. And now he's my husband of 2 years and I LOVE him.
I thank the Lord every single day for bringing us together. I have thought so many times about how God makes everything happen just "so". We were both raised in Christian homes, we we're both single, we were both in the right "spot" in our lives to meet each other. I can honstly say if we had met even one year earlier we probably would have never talked. But God knew what he was doing :)
Tedd you are the most wonderful gift God has given me on this earth. As a young girl we all dream of marrying our prince charming. I am definately one of the lucky girls who got her wish. You are loving, caring, supportive, hardworking, funny...HILARIOUS. You put up with so much from me. You let me be ME. You are a wonderful God Fearing Husband.
We got married young. Some people criticized and judged. Although we've had our ups and downs like anyone else, I have LOVED growing up with you and am looking foward to continuing to learn about this thing called life :). God has so much in store for us. He has richly blessed us with a home, jobs, wonderful families and support systems. Oh and animals...thank you for not thinking i'm a "crazy lady" for loving my animals. Thank you for loving me through my body image struggles. You are ALWAYS there for me.
I love you when we wake up in the morning, I love you when we laugh together, when we cry together, when we talk on the phone, when you hold my hand, and when you wrap your arms around me.
I love you more every moment of every day. I thank God for giving you another birthday and another year. You are so special to me. I love you Forever and Always! Have a WONDERFUL 24th BIRTHDAY Sweetie!
Jess the Wifey :)
